Our Story
STIX greeting cards was founded in late 2024 by me, Hannah. I am 12 years old and have always had a passion for giving back to others. It started at my 9th birthday when I donated all my gifts to Toys for Tots. The next year I raised money for St. Jude's. Last summer my friends and I raised over $2800 for a friend with cancer. Each STIX greeting card is designed by me and printed and packed by my mom. 10% of all profits will go to a different charity each year. Until 2026, STIX will be supporting Wheeler's Warriors. Wheeler's Warriors
Wheeler’s Story: Charles “Wheeler” Stecker is the youngest ever diagnosed with Juvenile Batten Disease CLN3 at just 5 weeks old. While this diagnosis and disease is terrifying, his parents are thankful for this early diagnosis and dedicated to helping Wheeler and others impacted by this rare disease. At 5 ½ years old now, Wheeler is beginning to encounter symptoms that are affecting and disrupting his childhood, and his biggest battles are yet to come.
What is Batten disease? Batten disease is a rare, fatal, inherited disorder of the nervous system that usually begins in childhood. The first symptom is progressive vision loss, followed by personality changes, behavioral problems and slow learning. Seizures commonly appear within 2-4 years of vision loss. Progressive loss of motor functions (movement and speech) start with clumsiness, stumbling and Parkinson-like symptoms; eventually, those affected become wheelchair-bound, are bedridden, and die prematurely in their late teens to early twenties.
